Rochdale 1s Vs Didsbury Greys 3s Match report

With pre-season finally over, the 3s went to Rochdale in high hopes of a good first match. Ani bravely volunteered in goal.

Sadly, Rochdale nabbed a couple of early goals on with good counter attacks, but we never let our heads drop and kept working hard. Den did a fantastic job covering at left back, Anna battled through some painful challenges and Saf really grew into her first game for the club, proving a solid presence at the back. The first half finished 2-0, and we came out for the second half raring to go!

We managed to get forward a lot more in the second half, with some great running from Helen, Sophie, Kat and Alice in the midfield giving Emily and Ve some cracking balls to run on to. Our attacking mood meant that we came a lot closer to getting our own goals, but just couldn't get the chances converted in Rochdale's D. Sadly, it also meant Rochdale played their counters more and scored some great goals. The match finished 7-0, but we all left the pitch smiling about a game that was far closer than the scoreline said!
